Apple St. Johns Town Center
Retail · St. Johns Town Center
Apple St. Johns Town Center is the official Apple Store at 4835 River City Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32246, in the open-air St. Johns Town Center. Google Places and Yelp both list (904) 380-3080. This page is that River City Drive store. It is not the old 4712 River City Drive bay, not an Apple counter inside a Target, and not a carrier shop that sells iPhones. The company is Apple Inc. The Jacksonville Daily Record named Cupertino-based Apple Inc on the 2016 expansion plans.
Apple opened at Town Center in March 2005 as one of the mall’s first tenants. The Daily Record reported on August 3, 2016 that building plans showed a $1.5 million move into 9,141 square feet at 4835 River City Drive, a former Forever 21 between Tory Burch and Tesla. News4Jax called it the only Apple store in the area. MacRumors said the larger store opened March 11, 2017. 9to5Mac listed that relocation in Apple’s 2017 “town square” rollout under retail chief Angela Ahrendts. BBB’s Cupertino file for Apple Inc (1 Apple Park Way, Tim Cook, not accredited) is the parent company. Stay Safe Jax does not use it as this store’s grade.
Public ratings here are stored snapshots. Google Places listed 3.6 from 2,381 reviews in September 2026. Public Yelp is 3.0 from 239 reviews. Stay Safe Jax averages those snapshots, so the headline is 3.3 from 2,620 combined reviews. Google’s own review summary for the listing — labeled summarized with Gemini — said customers praise friendly, patient staff, and that “appointments can be ineffective and service can be slow.”
That split shows up in named Google reviews returned with the Places file. Jonathan Melquist (2 stars) wrote that he booked a cracked-screen appointment four days ahead for 6 p.m., waited 30 minutes after check-in, then was told at 6:31 p.m. that the repair needed 1.5 hours and had to be rescheduled because he had a flight the next morning. Jade (5 stars) was quoted a 40-minute wait, then seen in about five, and wrote that the store is extremely busy “because it’s the only official Apple store in the area.” Morgan Reddish (5 stars) said it was super busy and still got fast help switching from PC to Mac. Micah Matthews (5 stars) said shopping visits were about 10 minutes when they came prepared, and that you might wait for tech support. Yelp highlights tell people to go in the last two hours before closing. A Yelp community answer says an appointment is needed for a repair or purchase.
Business Insider reported in 2018 that Apple Store complaints nationwide clustered on crowds and Genius Bar waits. That article described Apple retail as a whole. A review of public news and Florida attorney general consumer materials for this page did not turn up a lawsuit or attorney general case naming this Town Center store. Google lists Monday–Thursday 10 a.m.–8 p.m., Friday–Saturday 10 a.m.–9 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Check hours the day you go.
